Introduction:
Windsor lies at the western end of the heavily-populated
Quebec City across the Detroit River, which
according to the inhabitants of Windsor
sustains the city. Windsor has a continental
climate with four distinct seasons and is
surrounded by fresh water. Summers in Windsor
are generally warm and humid.
Tourist Attractions:
Windsor has many places of interest to tourists
and visitors. Windsor is nicknamed the "City
of Roses" and is known for its gardens
and parks on the waterfront. Queen Elizabeth
II Sunken Garden is located in the central
part of the city and is famous for its replicas
of a Spitfire and a Hurricane aircraft.
Windsor-Detroit International Freedom Festival,
a two week long affair held every year is
another draw for visitors. Other attractions
include Ambassador Bridge, Hiram Walker,
Odette Sculpture Park, Belle Isle, Bert
Weeks Memorial Gardens, Coventry Gardens
and Detroit River.
