With the Arctic Ocean in the North, the Pacific
Ocean in the West and Atlantic Ocean in the East,
Canada exhibits an interesting diversity in climate.
Canada in the East is segregated into two sections
by the Hudson Bay that is frozen for most of the
year.
The Prairie Provinces in Canada (Alberta, Manitoba
and Saskatchewan) feature a climate with warm
summer days broken by occasional thunderstorms
and rains. The climate in these regions during
winter months is characterized by cold winds and
blizzards.
The climate in northern Canada is inhospitably
cold during the winter months. In the summer,
the days are long with summer fog and occasional
clouds being common feature in coastal areas.
The climate in Canada's south western coast is
fairly mild. Ocean currents play a very important
role in defining climate in Canada. Other than
Canada's West Coast, most destinations in Canada
experience cold winter months, well below freezing.
